From Goodison Park to Guitar: A Unique Tribute by Arundel Guitars

The Guild of Master Craftsmen is proud to showcase a remarkable project by Arundel Guitars that brings together heritage, craftsmanship and charitable purpose in a truly meaningful way. Created from original seating at Goodison Park, two bespoke electric guitars are set to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and Everton in the Community, while preserving a piece of football history for future generations.

Craftsmanship Rooted in Heritage and Purpose

This project began with a deeply personal motivation. Having lost both his father and a close friend’s father to prostate cancer, the maker behind Arundel Guitars set out to support the cause through fundraising linked to the London Marathon. With a strong personal connection to Everton Football Club through family ties, the opportunity to combine charity, craftsmanship and club heritage soon followed.

The materials themselves carry significant history. The original Goodison Park seats date back to the 1950s and 1960s, having been removed from use decades ago. Rather than allowing these pieces of football heritage to be lost, they have been carefully repurposed into two one of a kind instruments. From the front, the guitars present as beautifully crafted electric models, while the reverse reveals the original seat structure preserved in clear resin, allowing the story behind the materials to remain visible.

The first guitar, known as the Toffeecaster, takes inspiration from a classic T style design. Featuring a maple and wenge neck, an India blue stained finish and carefully aged detailing, it reflects both the original seat colour and the passage of time. The second guitar, the LP, follows a single cut design with vintage style P90 pickups, echoing traditional craftsmanship while incorporating the same heritage materials. Both instruments are completed with high quality hardware, engraved Everton detailing, matching straps and protective cases.

Supporting Charity Through Unique Design

Beyond their visual impact and technical quality, these guitars carry a powerful purpose. Proceeds from their sale will support Prostate Cancer UK alongside Everton in the Community, creating a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the instruments themselves.

These are the only two guitars ever created from these original Goodison Park seats, adding a level of exclusivity that reflects both their rarity and significance. They will be auctioned on 21 March 2026 at Hill Dickinson Stadium following the Everton v Chelsea match, as part of a dedicated charity event. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and even play the guitars, creating a direct connection between craftsmanship, community and cause.

A True Reflection of Guild Values

This project perfectly represents the values upheld by the Guild of Master Craftsmen. It demonstrates a commitment to quality, innovation and the respectful reuse of materials, combined with a genuine desire to create something meaningful.

Arundel Guitars continues to embody the spirit of traditional craftsmanship while embracing creativity and collaboration. Transforming something once overlooked into an instrument that can be cherished for years to come is at the heart of this work. It is a powerful example of how skilled craftsmanship can preserve history, support important causes and inspire others through thoughtful design.
