Calibur Glass Celebrates Award-Winning Success with Craftsmanship at Its Heart

Glasgow-based Calibur Glass & Glazing Ltd continues to make its mark on Scotland’s home improvement industry, collecting an impressive series of awards for its workmanship, customer service and commitment to quality. As a proud member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen, the family-run business is demonstrating how traditional values, personal service and exceptional attention to detail can deliver outstanding results.

For Chris, founder of Calibur Glass & Glazing Ltd, the past few years have provided plenty of reasons to celebrate. Since establishing the business in 2020, he has built a growing reputation for quality glazing installations, windows, doors, conservatories, sunrooms and home extensions.

However, it is the company’s remarkable collection of industry awards that has recently placed Calibur firmly in the spotlight.

Three More Awards in 2026

At the 2026 Scottish Home Improvement Awards, Calibur Glass achieved Highly Recommended recognition in three prestigious categories:

    – Scotland’s Best Window Replacement Company

    – Scotland’s Best Extensions Company

    – Scotland’s Most Trusted Home Improvement Company

These latest achievements follow Highly Recommended recognition for Scotland’s Best Window Replacement Company in both 2024 and 2025, alongside finalist positions for Best Extension/Conversion Company and Outstanding Customer Service in 2025.

The recognition extends well beyond one awards programme. Calibur has been named Best Window Installation Company and Best Conservatory Installation Company at the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards for three consecutive years, from 2024 to 2026.

Further accolades include Glazing Contractor of the Year, Best Windows & Doors Installation Company, Customer Service Excellence Award and Most Trusted Glazing Company, alongside multiple Scottish Enterprise Awards.

For a relatively young, independently run business, it is an impressive record of achievement.

“To receive recognition over three consecutive years means a lot because it shows we’re working consistently to the same standards, not just having one good year,” explains Chris.

“It’s a real boost for me and the team, and it gives our customers confidence that the care and workmanship we promise are being recognised by others too.”

Building a Business Around Quality, Not Quantity

While the awards are certainly worth celebrating, Chris is clear about what matters most to him.

Calibur has never set out to compete on price or become a high-volume installation company. Instead, the business concentrates on delivering a premium, personal service where quality is never compromised.

Chris personally oversees projects on site, working alongside his trusted installation team rather than subcontracting glazing work. Customers also benefit from direct communication with Chris or Cheryl in the office.

This hands-on approach ensures accountability throughout every stage, from the initial survey and product selection to installation and the finishing touches.

“Over the years, I’d seen too much work where ‘good enough’ seemed to be the attitude, with little pride taken in the finished job,” says Chris.

“I started Calibur because I believed I could offer something different, a premium service, quality workmanship and a finish I could be proud to put my name to.”

It is an approach that closely reflects the principles championed by The Guild of Master Craftsmen for over five decades: professional integrity, pride in workmanship, specialist skills and a genuine commitment to customers.

Craftsmanship That Makes a Difference

Behind the awards are individual projects that demonstrate what skilled craftsmanship can achieve.

One particularly memorable installation was a glass sunroom near Aberfoyle, overlooking the River Forth and surrounded by breathtaking Scottish scenery.

Chris was involved throughout the build, creating a space that complemented its remarkable natural setting.

Another favourite project took place in Uddingston, where an elderly customer wanted a brighter living space in which to enjoy reading.

Chris designed and built a four-metre by four-metre sunroom featuring full-height glazing and a solid roof incorporating glazed panels. The transformation introduced natural light into an area that had previously required lamps even during the daytime.

“Projects like that remind me that what I build can make a real difference to how someone enjoys their home,” he reflects.

It is this combination of technical ability, thoughtful design and understanding customers’ needs that makes craftsmanship about much more than simply completing a job.

Shared Values with The Guild of Master Craftsmen

As an accredited member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen, Calibur Glass represents the values the organisation seeks to promote throughout the UK’s skilled trades and specialist industries.

The Guild’s commitment to recognising businesses dedicated to higher levels of skill and service aligns closely with Chris’s philosophy of maintaining standards, taking responsibility and treating every project with care.

“For me, membership is recognition of the standards I’ve worked hard to build into the business,” he explains.

“I’m proud to be part of an organisation that shares those values.”

The Guild is equally pleased to celebrate members whose achievements help demonstrate the professionalism, dedication and expertise found across the British trades.

Looking Ahead to Continued Success

Despite his growing collection of awards, Chris has no intention of losing sight of the approach that has made Calibur successful.

Rather than pursuing rapid expansion, he intends to grow steadily while protecting the personal service and workmanship on which the business has been built.

With projects already scheduled into March 2027, the future looks encouraging.

For Chris, the philosophy remains refreshingly straightforward: “Keep calm and carry on!”

The Guild of Master Craftsmen warmly congratulates Chris, Cheryl and the entire Calibur Glass & Glazing Ltd team on their outstanding achievements. Their continued recognition is a fitting celebration of the skill, dedication and pride in workmanship that sit at the very heart of The Guild.

We look forward to seeing what this award-winning Scottish business achieves next.
