SureSet Celebrate 18 years with an event at BRE
On April 29 SureSet Permeable Paving are holding an event marking 18 years of business at BRE Innovation Park in Watford.
With a focus on SuDS, the event starts with a brief introduction from SureSet Managing Director, Kevin Weston, short talks from CIRIA, ACO and DURAL, a tour of the two SureSet installations at BRE and an opportunity for questions and networking.
Not many people know that when established in 1997, SureSet revolutionised the concept of clear resin bound permeable paving for external use. They did this by applying a logical approach to the selection and design of their products to ensure optimum performance and durability.
One of SureSet’s founders and current Managing Director, Kevin Weston said:
“It seems very fitting for us to be celebrating our 18 year anniversary at BRE; a place that supports the development of innovation to help achieve a more sustainable built environment – a philosophy with which we are 100 per cent committed to.
Our continued investment into research and development has seen many successes including the addition of seven new resin bound products to our range, staff levels rise from five to 33 and developing our own method of colouring recycled glass. I wonder what the next 18 years will bring!”
SureSet has two installations at BRE, the first is outside the Barrett Green House; a 28m² Rainbow Pathway made up of 37 different shades each one a bespoke mix. The permeability of the path was demonstrated in episode six of BBC’s Watchdog Test House investigating how to protect homes from flooding.
The second really pushed the creative boundaries of SureSet and their Installation Team, with the installation of 3D steps.
Every year BRE attracts thousands of visitors to see emerging approaches to sustainable buildings and designs they have on show. BRE gives companies, like SureSet, the opportunity to exhibit their latest technologies in a totally live setting.
