Guild Members - Make the Most of Your Free Mini-Website

Every Guild member has a mini-website on www.findacraftsman.com but not every member takes full advantage. We work hard to attract thousands of visitors to the website, and when they make a search we want the members who appear on it to take every chance to stand out. Here are a few tips to get the most out of your listing.

Imagine a consumer searching for your product or service on www.findacraftsman.com and coming across your name. They click on you to look at your full details but how do you make them call you or email you or visit your website?

The site is designed to let you personalise your own space. You can add your logo, telephone, email and website. You can add photographs, with captions. You can add free text to describe what you do and how you do it. And the good news is that it is easy to do.

It is all about capturing, then maintaining their attention. Your logo will do that in the first instance and then they will scan your contact details and be drawn naturally to your ‘business description’.

This is free text for you to say what you want but we would advise laying out your skills in a simple direct way whilst encouraging them to contact you. Such as:

‘Smith Roofing are happy to quote for any job from one slipped tile to a complete re-roof. We are experienced in slating, tiling and flat roofing and work within a fifty mile radius of town. Founded in 1983, we are a family business who are delighted to provide testimonials and references. Call us now and tell us how we can help.’

Beside the business description, we have space for you to add photographs. You can put a caption on each one and the browser can enlarge them and look at them more closely. So you can put examples of your work and pictures of you and your team to personalise your space.

Encourage your clients to send in reviews of your work. The more responses you have the more eye-catching your rating is.

If you have a website of your own, your mini-listing can be a great link to it. You could even mention it in your business description. But if you do not have your own website this is your one chance to tell your story.
